Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility at Lifestyles. This page sets out our commitment, our framework, and how to raise a concern.
Lifestyles Residential Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child and young person in our care.
We work in line with the Department of Health’s “Co-operating to Safeguard Children and Young People in Northern Ireland” (2017), and with the standards set by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA). All members of our staff team receive safeguarding training and are subject to safe-recruitment checks before joining.
Our framework
Every member of staff is subject to AccessNI vetting and reference checks before joining. Safe-recruitment practice is led by the Operations Manager.
All staff complete safeguarding training and refresh in line with NI standards. Senior staff include Safeguarding Champion and TCI-trained leads.
Our multi-disciplinary team of Health and Care Professionals inform safeguarding decisions where they relate to a young person's plan.
An independent Compliance Manager and Social Work Supervisor reviews our practice and provides external assurance.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about the welfare of a young person in our care — or about any aspect of our service — please contact us directly. We will respond promptly.
If a child is in immediate danger
Call 999 (Police Service of Northern Ireland). Out of hours, you can also contact your local Health and Social Care Trust Gateway team, or the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000.
